Check it: femikaze.com just got a makeover.
Thanks to Rachel Swan of the East Bay Express for stopping in to chat… and for caring about funny ladies!
Wahoo—another sold out Femikaze show last night! Thanks to the nearly standing-room-only crowd who came out and helped us fill the Subterranean Arthouse with laughter! And, kudos to guest comedian Colleen Watson who kicked off the evening for us!
Tonight, we’ve got another lady you’re sure to love - Karinda Dobbins! Hailing from the Motor City and now living in the Bay Area, Karinda’s humor is sharp, distinctive and infused with hilarious social commentary. A proud associate of Jabari Davis & Associates and mentored by the legendary Tony Sparks, Karinda has appeared in L.A. and at dozens of venues throughout the SF Bay including The Purple Onion, Harvey’s and The Marsh. She’s also been featured in the 5 Funny Females Tour and the National Queer Arts Festival. Karinda is a breakthrough talent with an unconventional perspective and colorful wit that engages and pulls you into her aggressively laid-back comedic style.
We’re psyched to have Karinda join us tonight as we take the stage one last time for Night of the Living Femikaze! If you haven’t already, be sure to follow Karinda (on facebook and/or twitter) and snag your tix to catch her live tonight at the Subterranean Arthouse.
A regular at Rooster T. Feathers, Colleen has also performed at the SJ Improv, Punchline, Tacoma Comedy Underground and Utah’s Wiseguys. She’s opened for Arj Barker, has been molested by Norm MacDonald, and continues to take the Bay Area by storm with her biting and bitter comedy.
You can catch Colleen tonight at the Subterranean Arthouse as she opens for Night of the Living Femikaze. And, if you’d like to follow her in a non-creepy, fully consensual way, check her out on twitter and/or facebook.
